Every year, NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year, NAIDOC Week 2022 will be held from Sunday 2 July to Sunday 9 July.
NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.
The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
It is incredibly important to educate children on the significance of this celebration from a young age. It is also important for all educators to be aware of this event and the overall recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the reconciliation of the country.
