Coming to work on a daily basis and enjoying what you do is a thing some people can take for granted. I am lucky enough to work in a place where it seems everyone enjoys their work, yet we are all striving to improve on a daily basis.

Within our permanent opportunities team at anzuk Education, we have had a tremendous year. We have a great team, great processes and a shared purpose in place. We are fortunate enough to work with some great teachers and fantastic schools. We are currently completing some fascinating professional development around ‘growth mindset’ and our team is constantly trying to improve our service on a daily basis. We are not afraid to try new things and as a team, we are always open to feedback and how we can improve.

When I first interviewed with the team at anzuk Education, having not been a teacher myself, recruiting in the education sector was not something I had considered.  Having worked in recruitment for 3 years, I took somewhat of a punt changing sector, as did anzuk Education on me.

Upon reflection, the decision I made was certainly the correct one and I have had a great journey so far. Working with teachers and helping them with their long-term future gives me great satisfaction and teachers are fantastic people to work with. They love their job, helping others and it has been great to build some long-lasting relationships and keep in touch over the academic year.  Trying to find the ideal school environment for each teacher is incredibly rewarding, especially knowing that they can go to work on a daily basis and enjoy what they do!

As always, I’m looking forward to the festive period and relaxing.  A keen runner myself, I have some bigger competitions coming up in Adelaide, Devonport and Burnie followed by some downtime.

I’m thoroughly enjoying helping teachers who teach Maths, Science & Commerce. If you are curious about your next challenge and would like to speak with me, please get in touch on oliver.w@anzuk.education, I’d love to help!
