My time abroad in 2014 went by in a flash, and before I knew it, I was back home in Melbourne and itching to get back into education. Having recently completed my degree in teaching, I was eager to try something different outside a classroom but to stay within education. This lead me to landing a role as an educator in an outside school hours care (OSHC) service. I loved working in such a large service and quickly became the coordinator and built a fantastic working relationship with the school.

During my time as an OSHC coordinator, it became evident there was a great need for passionate and highly skilled educators for before and after school care services. The hours are unusual and OSHC isn’t the first thing that comes to mind for educators when looking for work. I saw a need and wanted to help not only my service, but other services on a larger scale.

Due to a happy connection at anzuk, I was made aware of a new opening that would be specifically for OSHC. I knew of anzuk’s great reputation and jumped at the opportunity. It was a brand new role. No one had undertaken this particular role before and I knew it would be an uphill battle to build this area up but it was a challenge I couldn’t wait to hit head on. Immediately after joining anzuk, I saw that the company was made up of a team of people excited about education in all sectors. Every individual shared the same goal of creating exceptional experiences in education every day.

With the support of such an enthusiastic team and my experience working in an after school service, it was easy to hit the ground running and start recruiting the best people for the right services. The demand for our outstanding educators is growing not only in Victoria but also throughout Australia! Hearing feedback from services about their amazing experiences with our educators and how much the educators are enjoying supporting those services, makes the job incredibly rewarding.
