Why did you decide to teach in Australia?

I have always enjoyed teaching overseas. After having memorable experiences teaching in South Korea and in Abu Dhabi, I was looking forward to a new adventure. I had heard wonderful things about Australia and was excited to explore a new country.

What made you choose anzuk as your preferred agency?

anzuk agency was recommended to me by a friend who had had an amazing experience teaching over in Australia a few years prior.

How did you find the transition and registration process with anzuk?

I was so supported during the entire process with anzuk. From the initial moment that I expressed interest in teaching in Australia and continually throughout my employment. anzuk provided me with assistance on Q&As regarding acquiring my teaching licence, recommendations on where to live, what I would need to bring preparing for the move and so much more. If I ever had a question I knew that the answer was only a quick email or phone call away. anzuk were always prompt and thorough in their response ensuring that I felt I had everything I needed.

How did you find the support from anzuk?

I cannot express how much support I had from anzuk. They became a family away from home. They are so helpful in assisting you to find schools that are a good match for you – being mindful of your location in the city, educational background (teaching specialty), grade level preference etc. They provide ongoing professional development and hold meet and greet evenings, which are a lovely opportunity to mingle with new/current teachers and make new friends.

What are the biggest differences you have found between teaching in Australia and Canada?

I found teaching in Australia and Canada quite similar.

What did you enjoy most about teaching and living overseas?

I most enjoyed meeting new friends and having the opportunity to see new places.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of making the move overseas from Canada?

Moving to Australia is a chance of a lifetime. I would highly recommend making the move
