First impressions count – you only get one chance to make one!
Here are a few tips we’ve learned from working with schools to help you make a positive impact as a CRT. You may get asked back for more relief or even potential contracts!

Dress professionally and appropriately (if you are teaching Health & PE wear your Phys Ed gear)

Arrive early! This will not only help you feel more at ease and give you the opportunity to organise your day, but the decision makers at the school won’t need to stress about you being late

Follow the lesson plan or instructions left by the teacher and leave notes for them at the end of your day

Do any marking from the activities that day

Leave the room tidy (even if you didn’t find it that way)

Offer to do lunch duties and after school duties

Use your initiative. If you have a free period, go and ask if there is any other class that they would like you to cover
