It all started when I found myself thinking of a career change; I wanted a challenge. Something that would test me, allow me to grow and develop and somewhere I could make a difference.
It can be difficult at times to know whether you are making the right decision. Will I be good at it? Will I fit in with the team? Am I the right person for the job? Fortunately, my choice to leave the teaching world and enter educational recruitment was one of the best decisions I have made…
Will I be good at it?
As a competitive, outgoing person who loves to meet new people, I quickly realised I was in the right role. A passion for the education industry and genuinely caring about matching each individual educator to their ideal role makes the rollercoaster of recruitment a very enjoyable ride!
Will I fit in?
One of our company’s core values is team and it didn’t take me long to realise this is reflected in everything we do. It is no secret that recruitment has been branded as an ‘every man for himself’ industry. At anzuk, team is at the forefront of everything we do. No one is ever too busy to help me out should I need some guidance, and I have made great friends both in and out of the office.
Am I the right person for the job?
Coming from a background in Early Childhood and Primary teaching, I have the industry experience to relate to and understand what the Centres require in an educator. I have been on the floor experiencing the daily struggles that are tantrums and toilet training as well as the uplifting moments such as seeing progress that took so long to achieve, and accidently being called ‘mum’. This has hugely contributed to my ability as a recruitment consultant, helping educators find their perfect role.
So back to my original aim…
To find a new challenge that would test me; recruitment has forced me to use skills I didn’t realise I had.
To grow as a person; I am now more confident, with stronger social and relationship skills.
To make a difference; every day, each one of us at anzuk aim to change the education industry for the better, helping and supporting educators in finding new roles they are passionate about and helping Centre owners find exceptional educators.
